What an amazing spring like day. By the time we were done it was 60 degrees. Great day to avoid the rediculous crowds in the high peaks.

We started our day off by looking for a non-posted section to start our climb from. We eventually did then headed off toward the 6 peak ridge.

The first peak was Fordway Mountain. It was steep from the road all the way to the ridge where it tapered off to a moderate hike through open woods to its open summit.

The second peak was Flagstaff Mountain, which is also the highest point along the ridge. It was full of surprises. 360 degree views, a surveyers bolt marked as Fordway, and a canister-don't no one go and remove it now. and no I didn't put it there.

Little Fordway Mountain was the next peak, nice views, not as open, woods were very nice, alot of rock.

Clark Mountain was only .6 miles away in a straight line through open woods-some of the nicest views of the day were from here. By this time the sky had started to clear, and that extra layer I had on was becoming a hassle.

From Clark to Curren which was Mountain number five I thought we were going to end up with no views. We kept getting closer and closer to the summit and it looked as if my hunch was going to be right. Then out of no where comes this wide open cliff with killer views of Whiteface and the small Hamlet of Clintonville. Go figure.

Keeton was the last peak on the ridge and we were going to be topped off on it by noon. 6 peaks in less than 3 hours-gotta love it. This one had nice views as well, but no quite as nice as the other 5. The descent was fun though. No butt sliding-at least not intentional. Major cliff band we somehow managed to miss, but it was steep none the less. Well that's this weeks trip report, gotta go to bed now-more bushwhacking ahead tomorrow.
