Calamity

Bushwacker and Peakbagr (did I spell the right peakbagr?) and I hiked up Calamity today. We used a route similiar to the one Neil and Randomscooter used earlier this winter except we didn't continue on to Adams. Looks like there would be some nice views on a day with visibility on route to the top. Today wasn't such a day. Lots of people out. The parking area at Upper Works was pretty full (maybe a car could have squeezed in). Several people skiing in what looked like decent conditions. Met Adackr and Sara along the way. Thanks Brian for navigating, driving, donuts... and Alan for driving, company, ...

I have been thinking of going over that way and reclimbing both Henderson and Calamity. I was planning on using the west ridge this time, but I can't pass up a broken track, thanks! You went up and down the same route? How much new snow did you find up there?

even found some rock and cliffs this time. looks to be some great views on a clear day. took the ridge up to the top. a little before our old trail and it was about the same, but probably nicer views.

Cool. Thanks for posting pics Brian. I don't think I even took my camera out yesterday. Today was a different story however!

Alan, now at 90. How was the back, knee, foot, joints doing? Ready to get closer to 99 so we can all finish this spring?

The knee knocked me out of Nov/Dec/Jan. Looking to quickly get back on track.
I'm hoping to drag you out of the house on your day off next Wed, 3/15 for another HH.
Brian and I are also doing some planning on knocking another few off as warm temps and rain diamondplate the snowpack. Now that Tim is back out of "retirement" too :twisted:, would like to get him back on track as well.

I'm not going for the HH, but would love to go on a couple of these, as my schedule permits.
