This was my first trip to the High Peaks in 33 1/3 years. Quick trip up with snowshoes,crampons. To cloudy for good views, but got some nice teasers of surrounding mts. Had plenty of time to explore around for other trailheads and areas, for future trips.
I now see why the Catskills get so few hikers, no one can find the trail heads. The DEC spends all its money on signs for the high peaks.

You want to really go nuts? Try to find a trail or trail head in N.J. A small state with small pockets of woods and with your map, you'll be driving 2mph along the road looking for paint on a tree. Oh what fun!

That was very recent. A lot of new signs have been erected in the high peaks region lately.
