Tom and I had a great hike in the Adirondacks yesterday.
Where do think we were?

You drew upon your knowledge base to come up with that one. Very smart. Oh, good try but wrong.

Brothers - Big Slide - Yard - I think I recognize the rock and a few of the trees.

Snow Mountain perhaps? (the one east of Rooster Comb), but there are better views than that.
Also is that Darth Vader in a winter prison jump suit (in Neil's avatar)?

The name of this place is a variation on one of the above names.

I suspect I am 0 for 2 with the guess of Slip Mountain. It seems unlikely that Neil would climb Slip so soon after Jay, but we all know he likes to obsess.
So while waiting for further confirmation, I'll strike out with the following guesses:
Slide Mountain in the Sentinels and an Adk HH.
Big Slash south of the Jays.
Slide Mountain north of Moose.
Actually, I have no idea where we were. My mind , for some unknown reason, is a total blank. I woke up this morning with my camera clutched tightly in my hand and I discovered that mysterious picture inside. I was hoping for enlightenment.

If you had used a flash we would have been more enlightened.
I would guess its Neil heading for the Big slide in Tom's yard to play with his brother.

OK, so you peaked your hike at soda Yard (kind of sounds Bostonian). And that Yard is a mighty high hill at 6143' (http://adkhighpeaks.com/neil/outdoor%20pursuits/nundagao/Nundagao_0026.html) ;)
At 892 meters on the current metric map it would be 2927' which looks to be about right as the 1953 Ausable quad had it with a 2920' contour line.
I must have been confusing meters with feet AND making some errors in my calculations while converting. It did seem kind of funny that Yard Hill isn't on any lists at all with that elevation. Silly me.

I thought yard hill was another mt. Jo sort of thing. or another one that the marshal bros forgot. We don't want to start up the whole yard mt should be a 46 thing back up.
I see peaked and yard off to the north of weston and the ridge. There is another nice rock summit 1/2 way up hurricane from the north just off trail to the west can't remember the name of it. great area to explore
